Emery Cunningham is a dynamic and passionate performer from Cincinnati, OH, now thriving in Boston, MA, where she is pursuing her BFA in Musical Theatre at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Known for her authenticity, versatility, and deep love for storytelling, Emery brings emotional truth and artistic precision to every role she inhabits. Most recently, she appeared in the Ensemble and understudied Marie/Fairy Godmother in the Conservatory’s Mainstage production of Cinderella.

Her performance credits reflect a remarkable range. Emery has appeared in Big Fish (Witch) with Commonwealth Artist Student Theatre; Les Misérables (Fantine), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania), Spamalot (Lady of the Lake), Jesus Christ Superstar (Simon Zealotes), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Olive), and The Wiz (Glinda/Dorothy, u/s) at Indian Hill Schools. At the Boston Conservatory, she has performed in Dreamgirls (Effie White), Alice by Heart (Red Cross Nurse/Queen of Hearts), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Logainne, Mitch, Leaf u/s), and the original production of Acts of Love: A Jason Robert Brown Review (Swing). In 2025, Emery served as an Acting Intern at the New London Barn Playhouse, performing in the Ensemble and understudying Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act, Miss Andrew and the Bird Woman in Mary Poppins, and appearing as a Dynamite and Lorraine in Hairspray. Her work at the Barn showcased her professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to excellence in a demanding repertory environment.

A multi‑talented artist, Emery’s creative journey began long before the stage. She has played violin for more than 12 years and spent four years performing with the prestigious Cincinnati Symphony Nouveau Chamber Players. This classical foundation shaped her musicality, discipline, and lifelong love for collaborative artistry.

Emery is equally passionate about the creative process behind the scenes. She has directed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, assistant directed SpongeBob the Musical, and stage managed Next to Normal. She has also contributed to wardrobe teams and run crews for multiple productions, giving her a holistic understanding of theatre-making and a deep appreciation for the collective effort that brings stories to life.

Whether performing, directing, collaborating backstage, or creating new work, Emery Cunningham thrives on connection, creativity, and the power of storytelling. Her artistry is rooted in curiosity, discipline, and a genuine desire to move audiences.
